Credit Repair Attorneys for the Credit Solution

Anybody with unsatisfactory credit understands how critical it is to get his or her finances in order – contacting a credit repair attorney can be the first step in this process.  A poor credit score can be extremely detrimental to a person’s financial standing, and without the assistance of a credit repair lawyer, many people are unable to get back on track.  The problem is that while credit repair attorneys most definitely provide the best method of repairing your credit, all too many people settle on recruiting the services of a credit repair agency instead.  This is oftentimes problematic, as some of these agencies are known for taking consumer’s money and not providing any services in return.

Different debt solutions – for different situations

Posted by | Posted on 24-01-2012

If you’re in debt, how do you know which approach would make the most sense for you? Debt solutions can be complicated things, designed to help people in very different situations, so here’s a look at three of them: debt consolidation loans, IVAs and the Debt Arrangement Scheme (DAS).

If you’d like some more in-depth information, you could visit this company‘s website. Or read on for a brief summary of each.

Debt consolidation loan

A new loan that’s used to pay off existing loans and other debts (like credit cards and overdrafts). This can help people make their finances a lot simpler, and can even reduce the monthly cost of repaying their debt – if they arrange a longer repayment period, they could reduce the monthly payments, although they’ll pay more in the long run, since interest will add up for longer.

Debt consolidation loans aren’t suitable for people who are really struggling with their debts. Read more…

How to Maximize Your Airline Rewards Miles

Posted by | Posted on 19-01-2012

Hi Eva,

I don’t understand my airline’s miles system. Last spring, I purchased a round-trip flight from San Francisco to Washington, D.C., for just under 30,000 miles. But when I tried to purchase the equivalent flight a few months later, my airline asked for 50,000 miles, which seems awfully pricey I’ve found flights to Europe for less. Now, I’ve checked back about the exact same flight, and they’re asking for just 25,000 miles. What’s the deal? Brian

Dear Brian,

Boy, I understand your frustration. Whether you are redeeming rewards miles or buying a ticket, airline ticket prices invariably are a moving target. And as you observe, with rewards redemptions, those price fluctuations can be dramatic.

What gives? When you consider buying a TV, at least you know that the price won’t go up overnight. Not so for airline tickets. There are many reasons the miles required for rewards redemption, as well as actual ticket prices, fluctuate so much. Here are a fe

Credit Card Incentives Still Hurting Consumer Credit Scores

Posted by | Posted on 18-01-2012

Consider the last time you signed up for a new credit card. If one of the reasons the card became attractive to you was because of additional incentives, you’ll need to realize the impact your decisions may be having on your credit score.

While the credit card industry has changed quite a bit in recent years, card companies are still willing to do what it takes to draw people in the door. Using rewards programs like free double airline miles or product giveaways at mall kiosks, credit card companies are still attracting the attention of consumers – some of whom should not be applying for any lines of new credit.

Personal financial experts tell consumers to pay careful attention to credit card offers. If your credit score is not in a good place and you apply for a credit card or two, you are actually going to trigger a decrease in the credit score you maintain. Thi

Reports show surge in credit card use for 2011 holidays

It now looks close to certain: the 2011 holiday season was the time when many Americans once again fell in love with their credit cards, at least according to a Dec. 27 report in The Washington Post.

Credit card use surges

The Posts piece cited support from two sources for its contention. First is appropriately enough First Data, a research company that tracks how consumers make payments. It found that, compared with the same period in 2010, credit card purchases increased by 7 percent in November, and then surged again in the first part of December. And it went on to quote Ed Ferrell, director of the Consumer Reports national research center:

If past behavior is any predictor, the closer you get to Dec. 25 the more likely youre running into that store and buying whatever you can.
